A resume summary is a short introduction at the top of your resume. For a fresher, it should connect your education, relevant skills, a real project or achievement, and the role you want. Avoid claims such as “best” or “expert” unless you can prove them.
Software or IT fresher
Example: Computer science student with experience building responsive web projects using JavaScript, HTML and CSS. Completed a college event-discovery project and seeking a frontend internship to contribute to user-facing features.
Marketing fresher
Example: Business administration student interested in digital marketing, content writing and campaign analysis. Created social media posts for a college club and seeking an entry-level role where I can learn campaign execution and reporting.
Finance or accounts fresher
Example: Commerce graduate with coursework in accounting, Excel and financial reporting. Comfortable organising data and preparing basic reports; seeking a junior accounts or finance operations opportunity.
General graduate
Example: Recent graduate with strong communication, research and teamwork skills developed through college projects and volunteer work. Seeking an entry-level role where I can learn quickly and contribute reliably.
A simple formula
Education or current stage + relevant skills + proof + target role. Keep it to two or three lines. Then tailor the words to each job description without copying claims you cannot support.
